What an awesome day it was on Sunday! First thing in the morning I got up and ready… Headed to Jersey City to pick up Ian. We both had no idea where the Summit was located so we pulled out our iPhones and started looking for the directions. After, finding the direction I got my GPS navigation out and started inputting the directions into the GPS but the GPS speaking lady tells me to choose between “Lexington Ln, or Lexington Ave” Well, the direction we got of our phones didn’t say if it was “Ln or Ave” so I started to “Eni Meeniing Mini Moing” in my head which was a big mistake because we ended up in Staten Island.
Now, Ian and I were 30 mintues away from the Social Media Conference but we managed to get there “on time”. Hmm, Not really because we did miss one Keynote but w/e. The first session we attended was not to interesting… Well, especially for me. Melissa Salas and Steve Rosenbaum were talking about how video is very important in the Social Media industry and also how to take advantage of it. After a long session Ian, Mickey, Brandon, and I decided to go out and find Popeyes to eat some chicken but we ended up getting lost and went into some random diner place. Once we where inside the diner we all placed our orders only to realize that our orders were already prepared in less then 5 mintues. I was kinda disappointed with there service. The waiter also gave us our checks and we all werent even half way finish to eating our plate!
Ok, So we went back and we sat down for the next session which was all about “Social Media Case Study’s”. This one was ok but I haven’t learned that much because to me it all seems like they where talking about basic stuff we all already know. I don’t feel like talking about all the other sessions because who cares? Like Ian said in the video “Nobody Knows Me!” lol just kidding but you all probably already seen better reviews on the event. Anyways, It was a found day and I got to meet alot of awesome people. The Share-A-Sale Party was pretty good, not alot of people went but Ian and I made it fun! Here are some pics
Just want to let everyone know how important it is to join these Conferences, You learn alot and get to know great people. I will be going to AD:TECH NYC this coming month and also going to ASW09 hope to see all you there!.
