I am always late on my Affiliate Summit post but I get caught up with a lot of work after the trip. Affiliate Summit was another great show but what kills me is that it’s in Vegas because I love to gamble and there where 2 nights I played Roulette until 8am then to sleep for a few hours later to goto the Summit. ASW10 was extremely packed! I didn’t even get a chance to meet-up with the Affiliates I hang out with mostly every other past Summits. I did meet-up with Ian Fernando, Wes Mahler, Justin Barr (AffBuzz) and Kris Trujillo on my first day at the Summit.

FIRST DAY

We arrived exactly at 10:30pm then headed straight to the hotel. Deciding if we should just stay in or go out we all decided to go gambling at the Bellagio. I was new to Roulette so I just threw in $10 and within 5 mintues I made $90. I learned from last year not to get to excited so I just cashed out. I stayed watching my brother and friends gambling there life away and we ended leaving the Bellagio at 7:30am.

SECOND DAY

I headed to the Meet Market and met up with Kris. It was so crowded that I just left and played Roulette with Kris and lost it all (Guess, I still haven’t learn my lesson). I don’t like the Rio hotel and I wish Shawn can change it to a better one next year. After the Roulette game we met up with Ian Fernando and Naomi from Bloosky and we headed out to eat at a Sushi spot in Caesar’s Palace. I had a great time here cause I never really ate Sushi and Kris, Ian, Naomi where trying to kill me with the Washabi. Thank God I only tried a small dot which was still pretty hot. Right after I ate I went back to the telly to rest while my brother and friends where out exploring Vegas.

We all planned to head out to Club Pure. It’s a nice club but it’s to Ian (ghetto) for me. Hearing Hip-Pop all night is not my style so we where there till 4am and sat down on the Roulette table. Once again arrived home at 8am.

THIRD DAY

I totally forgot what I did the entire morning/afternoon but later during the night I met up with Andrew Payne, His Friend (forgot his name lol) and Daniel Wiafe. Headed up to the Playboy Club but it was dead because it was on a Monday and most clubs are closed. We weren’t there for long but my brothers and friend where tired so we left and called it a night. 3rd day I was real tired so I didn’t mind taking it down.

FOURTH DAY

I think it was raining this day so we stayed in the whole day. We all said to take it easy cause our flight was early the day after but we all didn’t go with the plan so left to the Bellagio to see if we can get lucky again. Got home at 4am in the morning. We all were still awake and started packing up but then the worse happens we all slept and missed our 7am flight. Had to pay an extra $50 to change flight. Shawn Collins and I had the same flight so I got to see him atleast at the airport. Overall the Summit was fun and I see it’s getting better every year. Really looking forward to both ASE10 and ASW11.

I remember starting off buying domains off GoDaddy because it’s the only site I knew but they became so annoying with there email’s….. like spamming the hell out of you. Then came 1and1 which was pretty good because it offers private domain registration and good deals like $6.99 for your first year. One thing that disappointed me about them though is how slow there DNS Nameserver transfer was to another host. It literally took days for the changes to take effect. Anyways……

Most of you probably already heard of this great website that offers cheap domains, Privacy Protection and bunch of free features that you can check it out yourself at NameCheap. They also have great customer support and they respond to your ticket fast which is a big plus.

Check them out NameCheap and they are giving out a discount now. Buy your domain using the Coupon code and domains will be $8.81 / yr

COUPON CODE: “WinterWind”

DAY 1 (Saturday)

I started the night off by going to NYC and meeting up with Ian, Brandon, Vinnie and Rohail. My goal was to get there earlier so I can get my badge but I couldn’t make that happen. After, meeting up with Ian and the crew we headed straight to the WickedFire party. They had a bunch of other drinks in the fridge besides Coors Light but that didn’t faze me because I took a few drinks of Cristal… that did the trick. One thing I did like about the party is that I got to meet a few affiliates that I haven’t seen in months or even years. I was trying to see the UFC 101 in the suite but they were playing it right threw yahoo website, which was extremely lagging. I got to meet the Shoemoney once again, I had a face to face conversation with him in Vegas and when he saw me at the WickedFire party he introduced himself to me again but I guess he forgot who I was. It’s annoying when you don’t get recognized but let’s hope it won’t happen again, I don’t wanna do something crazy so he won’t ever forget about me…. Yeah, I probably pore some cold activated Coors Light. He won’t forget about me again trust me. Anyways, The other’s took it down early so I headed to the strip club in NYC.

The strip clubs in NYC are expensive! I met up with Andrew from Cashtactics but I came pretty late. Just when I paid for the $15 dollar entrance they came out telling me they where leaving. Mind you… I needed to buy a beer because it’s against the strip club policy or something. Yeah $10 beers oh well, I took a chug of the Coors and left. I stayed at the Casablanca for the night.

DAY 2 (Sunday)

Woke up pretty late but managed to get my badge with no hassle. ASW: Vegas lines where more insane. After, I got my badge I headed to the meet market and hung out with the affiliates and managers. I met up with Kris and Andrew then headed to the Marketleverage Yacht Hang-out. We got in the limo and the driver took us to the wrong dock. It didn’t bother me because Kris and I were DJing the whole limo with music. Check out John Chow’s video and you will see us controlling the music and making things happen. Upon our arrival we got inside the Yacht and started drinking and lurking. The food was amazing! Casey Thompson owned it.

DAY 3 (Monday)

I headed back to NYC and met up with Kris and Andrew once again and ate lunch at Ray’s Pizzeria. The pizza where HUGE and couldn’t finish my second slice. After, I went to the exhibit hall and walked around for a bit then headed to the Bloggers Lounge to meet up with Gary Vaynerchuk. I recorded a video of him playing thumb wars with some dude but during the recording someone ruined it by calling me. I then went to the Meetup202 get together. I caught up with Bryn and we both decided to head down to the Convert2Media booth and drink some Blue Moon beer. Hand’s down to C2M for the best booth and location. I didn’t stay for long on my 3 day, I was really tired so went back home and called it a day.

DAY 4 (Tuesday)

Shout out to Ian Lerner for making DAY 4 happen. I got to give the biggest shout out to OpesMedia for throwing the hottest party I’ve attended. They were throwing money like na naa na na. If you saw my twitter updates you already know the great time I had. The craziest thing that ever happen to me was when OpesMedia made it happen! They brought me like 30 bottles of Coors Light. It def made my day and I would never forget what they did for me that day.

Let’s get straight to the point. Now that Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and many other host of social media services are at a rise, It’s keeping people connected more than ever. I know most of you are probably having trouble keeping up with all the status updates, tweets, and posts. Well, I was going threw the same thing especially once you start getting to know more people in the industry. Here is the setup I use to keep everything managed up.

Ping.FM + HootSuite

Ping.Fm let’s you update up to 40 social networking sites in one click. So, what I did is made an account and started adding my networks that I already use. Now this is when HootSuite comes into play. I see people are still using Twitter homepage as a place to tweet but after you read this post you won’t be using it as much. HootSuite let’s you manage multiple accounts and helps you keep track on what others are saying about you. It has customizable columns that are embeddable off-site, auto-refresh, tabs, keyword tracking, brand montioring, and more. Now integrate both Ping.FM and HootSuite….. Killer app right there. All you do is go to the settings on HootSuite and add your Ping.fm application key.

Tweetie + Ping.fm for the iPhone

Away from your PC? Do you have an iPhone? Then download Tweetie. You can setup a Ping.Fm account with Tweetie all you do is go to your “Edit Account” screen and click on “Advanced” and add your application key there. Here is a set by set guide to help you out (Guide).

No Twitter

If you don’t use Twitter than you can visit Ping.fm application gallery and download there widget app on your desktop.

Social Media Aggregator

Social Media Aggregator are becoming more and more popular. They let you keep track of all streams from any and all most popular social networking sites including blogs. I use Streamy and I think you should to.

Streamy is probably one of the best Aggregators out there. It lets you collect all your favorite social media sites, blogs, and instant messaging tool in one dashboard. They separate your social sites into a single tab which you can access by clicking on the icon for each service. Streamy allows you to customize each service with layouts and widgets. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.

I really have been forgetting things these past few months and I’ve been to lazy to write on my whiteboard so I decided to look around for apps that can help me with my productivity. I booked a flight to Florida from August 5th to the 10th without my thinking about Affiliate Summit then I made plans with my friends on Saturday but had to cancel it because of a baby shower I totally forgot about. With these 3 tools I’m sure it won’t happen again.

Think

Instead of you trying to memorize your next killer idea or your master plan, Think allows you to write some notes in a twitter like box about any thought that comes to your mind. Stop trying to remember things, we all know you going to forget.

Remember The Task

I recently just downloaded this app and it wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be but it does the job. Remember The Task is a quick and easy way to add tasks to the to-do list. Duh, but I use it as a calendar.

Doomi

Doomi is a great app that I frequently use. Super easy GUI and lets you add items you need to complete. I use Doomi more for daily tasks.
