My Social Media Setup
Let’s get straight to the point. Now that Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and many other host of social media services are at a rise, It’s keeping people connected more than ever. I know most of you are probably having trouble keeping up with all the status updates, tweets, and posts. Well, I was going threw the same thing especially once you start getting to know more people in the industry. Here is the setup I use to keep everything managed up.

Ping.FM + HootSuite
Ping.Fm let’s you update up to 40 social networking sites in one click. So, what I did is made an account and started adding my networks that I already use. Now this is when HootSuite comes into play. I see people are still using Twitter homepage as a place to tweet but after you read this post you won’t be using it as much. HootSuite let’s you manage multiple accounts and helps you keep track on what others are saying about you. It has customizable columns that are embeddable off-site, auto-refresh, tabs, keyword tracking, brand montioring, and more. Now integrate both Ping.FM and HootSuite….. Killer app right there. All you do is go to the settings on HootSuite and add your Ping.fm application key.

Tweetie + Ping.fm for the iPhone
Away from your PC? Do you have an iPhone? Then download Tweetie. You can setup a Ping.Fm account with Tweetie all you do is go to your “Edit Account” screen and click on “Advanced” and add your application key there. Here is a set by set guide to help you out (Guide).

No Twitter
If you don’t use Twitter than you can visit Ping.fm application gallery and download there widget app on your desktop.
Social Media Aggregator
Social Media Aggregator are becoming more and more popular. They let you keep track of all streams from any and all most popular social networking sites including blogs. I use Streamy and I think you should to.
Streamy is probably one of the best Aggregators out there. It lets you collect all your favorite social media sites, blogs, and instant messaging tool in one dashboard. They separate your social sites into a single tab which you can access by clicking on the icon for each service. Streamy allows you to customize each service with layouts and widgets. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
